Reunions
Reunion 5 November 2011
We are planning a reunion for the 5 November 2011. The group we are targeting are the pupils that are essentially the over 40′s who were at school with Tom Stevens, Chris Pretorius and Niewoudt as headmasters.
The following was decided at our first committee meeting, members that attended the meeting at Mikes Kitchen, Parktown 9.00am:
- Charles Symons
- Cobus Viljoen
- Ian Verster
- John Verster
- Ian Harris
Developments that have taken place in terms of arrangements that are being made for the reunion:
- Hilda Slater nee Thomson has contacted us and offered her son’s services as DJ on the evening of the reunion.
- Ian Harris has approached Clifford Ross - CEO City Lodge Hotel Group, we have requested assistance as far as venue, menu and accommodation is concerned; we are still waiting for a response.
- Emil Wessels has been approached to do the pictures and video material on the evening, still to be confirmed by Email if he will assist. Charles Symons’ wife is also on standby to carry out this task is Emil is unable to assist us.
- Ian Harris has approached Mike Kimmings to assist us with negotiating concessions on air tickets with airlines for those out of towners; Mike is still to confirm his availability to assist us with this project.
- Ian Harris has approached John Verster to assist with negotiating a deal with Toot and Scoot, a company that assists people to get home safely after a party if too much alcohol has been consumed; John still needs to confirm that he will be able to assist us with this task.
- Marian Piquet has suggested arranging a reunion in Australia on the day and we will arrange a satellite link for those that we may communicate on the day with those living in Queensland.
Next meeting will be held at the same venue 23 rd July at 9.00am.

- Neville Bonner is taking charge of the finances and the Milner Trust Fund
- John Berks has agreed in principle that he will be MC for the reunion if he’s available
Update 24/08/2011
We have decided on a date and venue but the times are still to be finalized. (5 November 2011, Venue Rivonia Sporting Club, Achter Rd, Paulshof);
Kenneth Ellingworth has joined the organizing committee.

CLASS OF 1996
